Mission and Vision
The Maine Green Power Connection (MeGPC) exists to build interest
in and market support for environmentally beneficial electricity
products. By educating consumers and supporting green power
suppliers, MeGPC looks toward a day when all new generation in Maine
comes from non-polluting sources.
Objectives
The Connection will build customer demand for green electricity
products through public outreach, education and aggregation
activities. These projects and activities will:
In 2003, create and launch the Connection, drawing on the
resources, expertise, constituents and potential customers from over
25 leading Maine organizations;
In 2004, help enroll 5,000 customers in green power products,
through the Maine Green Power Menu and the product offerings of at
least 8 different green power suppliers;
By 2006, have assisted the enrollment of roughly 2% of Maine's
electricity market in some form of green, environmentally beneficial
electricity product;
By 2008, have enrolled 60,000 customers or 5% of Maine's market in
some form of green, environmentally preferable electricity.
